Along is an interactive fiction app where walking steps unlock story chapters. This policy describes what data the app handles and how.
Along is built by Valentin Galmand.

Along reads your daily step count from Apple HealthKit to unlock story chapters. Step data is read on your device only, used exclusively to advance the narrative, and never transmitted off your device. We do not store, aggregate, or analyze step data on any server.
If you subscribe, purchase processing is handled by Apple and by RevenueCat (our subscription infrastructure provider). RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier generated by the app and a receipt from Apple, so we can verify your subscription status across reinstalls.
If you allow notifications, Apple Push Notification service issues a device token used to send story-related notifications. The token is stored on your device and used only to route notifications from Apple to your device.
Along shares no data with any other party.
Along is not directed at children under 13. Age-appropriateness is indicated on the App Store listing.
We do not operate servers that store your data. Step counts stay in Apple HealthKit under your control. Purchase receipts are retained by RevenueCat and Apple per their respective policies.
Because Along stores no personal data outside of Apple's and RevenueCat's systems, there is typically nothing for us to delete. If you want to be removed from RevenueCat's systems, contact us at v.galmand@gmail.com and we will initiate the request.
If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you retain the rights those laws grant you regarding data controllers. Apple and RevenueCat are independent controllers for the data they hold.
We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use of Along after an update constitutes acceptance.
